As the director of the Beaver Island District Library, I’d like to heartily welcome you to our website. There have been some recent changes, so please do take a look around. For over thirty years, the Townships of St. James and Peaine have been fortunate to have a truly outstanding library, thanks not only to generous private donations and the ongoing support of the community itself, but also to the staff and board of directors for their wisdom and commitment to this institution. If you’re one of our regular patrons, we look forward to seeing you again in person very soon. If you haven’t visited us recently, or have never had the opportunity to stop by, please do so!

If you'd like to be among the first to learn about the newest books, DVDs, and CDs acquired by the Beaver Island District Library, you should consider signing up for our newsletter, provided by Wowbrary. It's free and very cool!

Wowbrary sends you a weekly email showcasing your local library’s most recent acquisitions. All titles are neatly categorized to save you time, with descriptions, reviews, and a click-through to the library to reserve an item (you'll need to create an online account at our website for this, but it is really easy. Check out the tutorial).

Go to www.wowbrary.org, click "Sign Up," and enter the zip-code (49782 y'all) and the email address you'd like the newsletter to come to.

It's that simple. You'll be able to access not only this weeks new arrivals, but also those from previous weeks.

Keith Grassmick was contracted to create a mural for the Library. After working several months, the mural arrived on one of the last ferries to the Island. Plans for installation and unveiling are being made for February.
